Because the growth of people and encouraging them to take steps forward is something Evert is passionate about and in which he excels. He has a genuine curiosity for the people around him, a sharp eye for their potential, and succeeds in giving them a proverbial ‘push’ in the right direction so that they fulfill this potential and grow. His centeredness and calm quickly puts people at ease, makes them feel safe, and through this he creates a context of “it’s ok, everything can be said.
Evert also loves to inspire and guide people to leave their usual paths and experience for themselves how things can be done differently.
When navigating in those unfamiliar and uncomfortable territories, he brings a certain peace of mind, creates trust, as well as a feeling of ‘it’s going to be okay’. And manages to get people to be part of a change.
Lastly, Evert’s facilitation skills are excellent, striking the right balance between challenging and supporting. He has a sensor that allows him to quickly feel what the group needs. He listens very well, leaves space, brings structure and always makes sure the group feels that he is one of them and there to help. He brings a sense of flow and his enthusiasm, reliability and sincerity inspire confidence in any collaboration.
Satisfying my curiosity for life, people and for any new piece of knowledge: reading, wandering, traveling, exploring. Often outside: on a mountain, in a forest, near a river. And moving my body: Mountain-biking, Gravel biking, Road biking, Bike-packing, hiking, running, rollerblading, skateboarding, bachata/salsa dancing.
